Origin Story: Born in the In-Between

It started with a question: What happens after resurrection – before Pentecost?

In the spring of 2020, when the world stood still and church doors were forced shut, Qurious Theologian Academy was born – not as a brand or a business, but as a lifeline. We gathered in a moment of global disconnection, offering spiritual sustenance to overextended pastors, hurting communities, and faith leaders who were grieving, tired, and unsure what ministry looked like next.

QTA began with Family of Faith (FoFaith) – a collective online Bible study where churches united to teach, to learn, and to lead as one. We asked big questions, explored sacred texts, and formed a community where none existed. From Wednesday Bible studies to Tuesday leadership circles, youth gatherings to annual retreats, teacher trainings to statewide virtual conferences, QTA helped churches not just survive online, but reimagine what “church” could be.

We bridged pulpits and pews, trained leaders, and lifted lay voices. We went from disconnection to divine discovery. And when the world reopened, QTA paused. Not because the work was done. But because something needed to be reborn.

Now, on our 5th anniversary, we return to the sacred spark. QTA is no longer just an academy. It is a Center for Liberated Learning & Leadership – a place where ministers, mothers, and misfits can reclaim their voice, their gifts, and their God-given brilliance.

This is not a restart. This is a resurgence – what happens between resurrection and Pentecost.

We’re:

Building what they said we needed permission for.

Leading with what they tried to leave out.

          Going from questions to knowing.

Finally, she knows. And she is not asking anymore.
